The Linda A. Ferguson Memorial Scholarship began as a gift from a friend of Linda (Judi Schrubsole), upon Linda’s death, who gave it to Cedarville University in memory of Linda. Upon this gift, the family wanted to build the scholarship fund and make it become a larger, annual scholarship, and so the Linda A. Ferguson Memorial 5K was created.
Daughter of Linda
Rachel is the event director and created this race in order to build the scholarship fund. Rachael has been a runner since 2008 and developed a passion for the sport, and formed the idea to begin the 5K in memory of her mom. October 2011 was the first year of the event, with roughly 50 runners. The event has grown, to last year having 123 registrants and we hope to see it grow more each year. Rachael is the Event Director/Organizer of the Linda A. Ferguson Memorial 5K along with being the co-executor of the Linda A. Ferguson Memorial Scholarship. Husband, Michael, serves as head of security at event.
Husband of Linda
Roger is the head executor of the Scholarship, as well as being involved in the executive decisions of the 5K.
